Wolford College Philosophy
Philosophy:
Wolford College is dedicated to the concept that each student is an adult who has identified the need for additional education in a specific discipline. Wolford College is committed to providing students with an educational foundation for life long learning as described by Malcolm Knowles. In keeping with its mission, Wolford College believes that preparation for the varied and changing roles of men and women in advanced nurse practice requires an education that is competency based. The following is a description of the principles and their application at Wolford College.

In support of Wolford College’s mission and philosophy, the Nurse Anesthesia program believes that students should be educated in the full scope of anesthesia practice to become competent nurse anesthetists. Furthermore, it is believed that the curriculum needs to emphasize safe, patient centered care, interdisciplinary teamwork, evidence based practice, application of quality improvement and utilization of information technology. The educational process is based on the belief that the students should be encouraged to commit to life long learning and to personal and professional growth.
