Technology at Wolford College

Wolford College is commited to utilizing the lastest technology in delivery of courses and resources available to students. A technology consultant is employed by Wolford College in order to provide continual updating of the website and assistance to students and faculty members if needed. Students are required to be computer literate prior to admission to Wolford College and are required to purchase a computer.

To be able to work more effectively in Wolford College you will need a computer that is capable of email and network connectivity. Please make sure that the computer you choose is one that you have used before or you are comfortable using.

Below are some suggested laptops and software that we highly recommend but any computer is acceptable.

  • Macbook or Macbook Pro
  • Dell Vostro Business laptop
  • If you are going to purchase a Windows based machine, ask if you could have all the trial version software removed. This unwanted software clutters up the system so ask if you can get a business laptop that does not have this.
  • If you do end up purchasing a machine with all this software loaded, please call and schedule an appointment with technical support to have it removed.
  • Please make sure the laptop you choose is a machine you are comfortable using and are familiar with. We do not have a training course but if you need assistance please contact technical support.
  • At least 1 GB of RAM is recommended
  • Microsoft Office 2003 Suite or similar software needs to be installed
  • Anti-virus software subscription needs to be installed on all Windows based machines.
