Masters of Science Nurse Anesthesia

The Nurse Anesthesia curriculum is comprised of 28 months of intensive study. The program is divided into two stages:

  • Didactic: First 12 months
  • Clinical stages: Last 16 months of the program

In the Didactic phase you will be exposed to a front-loaded didactic program located in Naples, Florida. Didactics are incorporated with clinically relevant education during the second and third semesters. This orientation to the clinical area will make you understand the clinical relevance of your didactic education. You will be exposed at this time to such skills as airway management and the operation of the anesthesia machine.

During the Clinical phase, the students will be immersed in clinical anesthesia. Didactics in the form of reading and testing as well as several on-line courses, will be ingrained throughout the clinical experience. This will give you the knowledge base to pass the National Certification Exam.

Our students get a broad variety of clinical cases. You get a full scope of practice with an average case count exceeding twice the minimum requirements. At present we have three clinical hubs, Naples, Tampa, and Davenport, Florida. You may complete your 16 months of clinical anesthesia at any of these hubs.

For more information about our clinical hubs please click here.

Upon graduation you will have completed 72 semester hours over the 28 month period. Be assured that by this time you will be a competent and safe Nurse Anesthetist.
