Program
Wolford College is an innovative educational institution
that awards a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. Upon graduation you will be eligible
to sit for the National Certification Exam.
The Nurse Anesthesia curriculum is comprised of 28 months of intensive study. The program is divided into two stages: 1) didactic and 2) clinical stages. The didactic stage takes place during the first 12 months and is followed by 16 months of clinical training and education.
In the first stage you will be exposed to a front-loaded didactic program. This, means that a great majority of your time will be spent on didactics during the first 12 months. Didactics are incorporated with clinically relevant education during the second and third semesters. This orientation to the clinical area will make you understand the clinical relevance of your didactic education. You will be exposed at this time to such skills as airway management and the operation of the anesthesia machine. All of the didactic front loaded program takes place in Naples, Florida.
During the last 16 months or Clinical phase, the students will be immersed in clinical anesthesia. Didactics in the form of reading and testing as well as several on-line courses, will be ingrained throughout the clinical experience. This will give you the knowledge base to pass the National Certification Exam. All clinical time must be completed on a full time basis.
Wolford College offers a full scope of practice and educational experience in nurse anesthesia. We believe in providing you with the best educational experience that is available. We believe that you should be exposed to all forms of anesthesia.
Our students get a broad variety of clinical cases. At present we have three clinical hubs. You may complete your 16 months of clinical anesthesia in Naples, Tampa, or Punta Gorda, Florida.
Upon graduation you will have completed 72 semester
hours over the 28 month period.
Be assured you will be a competent and safe Nurse Anesthetist at the time of graduation.
