Welcome to Wolford College

Wolford College is an innovative, young and vibrant school of Nurse Anesthesia located in Naples, Florida. These are exciting times in the history of the school as we have just been granted continued accreditation from the Council on Accreditation (COA) receiving 10 years (the maximum accreditiation).  We have also just moved into our new state of the art campus. We have come a long way and are expecting great things in the future.

Wolford college was first founded in 2004. Prior to that it was known as the Norman R. Wolford School of Nurse Anesthesia and was associated with Florida Gulf Coast University. Since 2004, it has been a stand-alone independent college whose sole purpose is to train nurse anesthetists.

Our primary goal is the education and clinical training of the next generation of nurse anesthetists. We take qualified Registered Nurses and mold them into professional and dedicated nurse anesthetists. Students can expect to graduate with a Master of Science degree in Nurse Anesthesia. We do our utmost to train and to educate you in the sciences of anesthesia. We believe that our program is unique in that it provides students with the ability of full scope of anesthesia practice.  Students are instructed in airway management, general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, invasive line monitoring, and all other facets of anesthesia.

The practice of anesthesia is a rewarding career that offers many opportunities. Advances in nursing and medical knowledge add new dimensions to our practice on a daily basis. As a student and practitioner you experience one-on-one patient care while providing anesthesia for all types of surgical procedures. Every patient and every anesthetic provides a unique challenge that makes each day exciting.

There are multiple opportunities for practice within the field of nurse anesthesia. The majority of nurse anesthetists practice in the clinical area providing safe, effective and efficient anesthesia for all types of surgery. Some find their interest in departmental and institutional administration. Others, with an interest in education, find careers as clinical and didactic instructors.
