Post-Master's Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice

Admissions

Wolford College School of Nurse Anesthesia is accepting applications for June 2010 admission. Early application is encouraged. Please read through the admissions criteria carefully and go through the checklist below. Admissions Checklist:

  • Completed Application
    • Deadline May 1, 2010

  • Application Fee ($50.00) (money order or cashiers check)

  • Official transcripts from all academic institutions attended- mailed to:

  • Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or (MS) from a Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) accredited program.

  • Photocopy of (re)certification as a CRNA by the Council
    on Re-Certification of the AANA

  • Three professional recommendations
    • Current clinical supervisor
    • Medical professional who has observed you clinically
    • Prior educational faculty

  • Current Resume

  • “Personal Purpose Statement” addressing the following areas (limit to 2 double spaced typed pages in 12 point Times Roman font in APA format):
    • Reasons for seeking this educational opportunity (DNAP degree)
    • Potential areas of study for capstone project – (this could be a practice
      improvement project, clinical management issue in an area of clinical significance and relevance).
    • Prior life/work experience that will be useful in attaining the DNAP
    • How the DNAP will assist the applicant in attaining career goals.
    • Description of the applicant's clinical practice which will include clinical practice setting, general description of the types and numbers of anesthesia cases per month.

  • Photocopy (if permitted in your state) of current and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse/ARNP

  • TOEFL score of 550 (paper based) or 213 (computer based) for international students

  • Completion of background check by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement /FBI (VECHS program) after acceptance, but prior to admission.
